It began outside with a large site clearance, grading off the grounds and removing all the surrounding trees, then moved inside to strip the house back to a bare brick shell before the rebuild. A hand cut joist set. Cut on site in Spalding during a week that also had two roofs and plastics and a posi joist set running at Stilton and a hip roof extension at Bourne. Traditional cut sets, engineered joists and posi joists are all routine here, typically C24 8x2 at 400mm centres with 22mm Caberdex over the top.
Doors into a sloped roof. A weekend on the biscuit jointer for SSL Home Creations, fitting doors into bespoke openings under a sloping ceiling with several cut down to suit smaller openings. Small job, but it is the kind of work that separates a fitter from a joiner.
Three more units with HB Developments. A carpentry package win with a local builder, with the team due on site over the summer and all 3 units aimed to be water tight before the winter.
